Standard and short Language and Culture Courses
Dante's Inferno: This course in English presents a unique opportunity to study Dante’s journey through the afterlife, by beginning with Canto 1 from the Inferno. The aim of the course, held in English by an expert Italian teacher, is to examine, illustrate and interpret each Canto according to various levels of meaning: literal, allegorical and moral. Particular attention will be given to Dante’s moral and religious ideas and their relevance in today’s world.
Italiano Espresso: This course is appropriate for students who have a basic knowledge of the Italian language and wish to build their confidence to converse in a variety of situations. The accent is on communication; grammar, however, will still be revised in relation to the topics discussed. Vocabulary building, choral repetition, and exercises to improve pronunciation are part of the program.
Italian for Travellers: An intensive crash course designed specifically for people who are planning a trip to Italy and need to learn some basic survival phrases in the shortest possible time.

Cultura Italiana (B1 and B2/C1): Designed for intermediate-advanced Italian speakers. Students are given the opportunity to discuss topics mainly regarding classic and contemporary Italian literature, through the reading of extracts from novels by Italian writers. Course materials provided by teacher.
Italian for Italians: For students of Italian origin who want to learn the basics of the Italian language and who have a predominantly oral knowledge of the language mainly through dialects.

Buon Appetito! (A2-B1): Learn Italian through reading activities using festive recipes and traditional specialities from Italian national and regional cuisine - what a treat! (Course not suitable for absolute beginners).
Cantando s’impara: Short course. From Jovanotti to Venditti, this unique experience will sharpen your pronunciation and speaking skills while studying contemporary prose. Each lesson is highly interactive and whilst students are encouraged to sing together in class, no formal singing abilities are required. Texbook: Canta che ti passa (Alma Edizioni)
Caffe' Italiano: Short conversation course. This course is intended for students who wish to consolidate and practise their conversation skills while revising and consolidating their grammar. The course is a great way to practice your Italian, expand your vocabulary and improve your understanding of the language.
Carpe Diem!:Through this course you will learn the basics of the Latin language. You will acquire the essential grammar and vocabulary to start translating and composing simple Latin sentences and short passages; you will learn the correct pronunciation rules and how to speak the way the Romans did. There will also be a cultural component to this course, through which you will gain an understanding of the main aspects of ancient Roman society. Upon completion of a full year of Latin for Beginners you will be able to read and translate short original passages from Caesar, Cicero and the most famous classical authors. Each individual course has a unique fee; please contact us for further information.
Textbooks are not included in the course fee and are available for purchase at reception. It is the responsibility of each student to ensure they have the required textbooks for their course.
